Just look on the web.
In NJ the average daily insolation is about 3.5kWHrs per day per sq mtr. The efficency of present day panels is about 10% (when new and clean) giving you about 350 WHrs/day of usable power per sq mtr of panel.
The average home in the US consumes about 25kWHrs/day so you are going to need about 70 sq mtrs of panels to run your home before you feed back into the grid.
Don’t forget the battery banks and inverters to cope with your peak loads. You are in for a rather expensive projects.

Even Home Depot was selling the inverters and solar panels.
