Can CO2 Be Removed From the Atomshpere?

Using green energy (wind, solar, hydro, etc) for power, is it possible to construct srubbers around the world to pull CO2 out of the atomsphere and put it back underground in abandoned wells in order to help lower this greenhouse gas?

Why aren’t solar and wind power used as the main source of energy in America?

I never really understood why this would even have to be asked. The sun is free and has almost unlimited energy potential. For that matter, why do solar panels cost so much? Is is just because they are not commonly made? If everyone had solar panels on their own homes, it would significantly decrease the amount of energy that needs to be produced by power companies.

Building a Wind Generator?

Hi All,

Need some advice on building a wind generator.

I have a 24V 100watt DC motor which delivers about 6amps.

I have tested this by attaching to a drill and measuring the output using a variable load and monitoring the voltage.
OK so far.

Next steps are

** to hook a 12Volt regulator suitable to charge a Lead Acid boat battery. Any circuit diagrams are welcome.

** Attach a suitable set of blades to drive the motor. I have a geared pulley arrangement that allows me to alter the drive ratio as needed. My biggest problem is I have very little knowledge on blades. ie. number required, length and pitch (variable or not). Also I’m trying to keep the overall diamater down to 3 feet or less.
Can I use a propeller from a remote control aircraft? or is there a simple way to build what I need – composite materials preferable, aluminum as a second choice.

Appreciate any feedback.. BTW this is something I’m doing using recycled materials with my son as a green project….
Hi, thought about auto fans, maybe the blades of an electric radiator fan. Worth a try.
I need the regulator as the output is 24V and I need a constant 13.8 V or higher to charge the battery.
Have to stick to 12V. Only room for one battery. Yes ceiling fan blades might be an option. I think it’s all going to be trial an error, and thats half the fun of recycling.
