My car battery is coming up to 5 years old. It still performs ok and a hydrometer test says it’s ok(4 cells well into the green and 2 cells on the border of the green and white). However if i look into the battery you can see white deposits that would remind you of frost on top of the plates. Is this normal and ok? Reason i ask is because the battery provides plenty of power and the hydro test says it’s ok.
Can’t seem to answer my own question, anyway the corrosion is not on the posts it’s inside the bttery on the plates, I thought maybe if the hydro readings are quite good i was hoping the white depeosits inside the battery are harmless.
