I was working in a school in a small, isolated town called Maunabo in Puerto Rico, known for having the highest teenage pregnancy rate in PR and drunks, maniacs, pushers. You get the picture: a beautiful town with serious problems. Taught two years with tribulations because of hacks=schemers.
I managed to set up a system to edit video and create electronic music with Pro Tools.
But of course i had a few problems. The bozos at the district office took my order and distributed it between 3 clueless dealers who of course could not configure the box which goes with pro tools.
as a perfect sucker I bought two books on Pro Tools, one on Dreamweaver, several on Illustrator (I was already quite strong on Photoshop, Free Hand, Flash, Director, etc. (But I haven’t had the energy to master Animation Master as my 16 yr old son, Roberto Luis,the Cartoon Master, has.)
But to make a long story short, I protested and they illimated my position. What should i do? (I am non-violent by nature.)
Learn to spell? I am an English and Linguistics prof. I spell those applications properly. (although there is some variation of spelling involved in regional dialects and since I speak Spanish, French, Portuguese, Sango, Creole (the Haitian variety and I am just starting that)–I do have some problems mixing names because there are slight insignificant variations between the names of products across languages. Also, since I post hundreds of messages a day I may make a few typos.
Have any of you studied cross-cultural communications and Perl and Monta gue Semantics (oh no, i made a typo!!!)
we poets are not always properly concerned about such trivia as punctuation rules when they are proved to be insignificant as seen by anyone with the slighest knowledge of linguistics.

any linguist would tell you that that the soounde is much more basic than the stupid spelling.
