In step-up transformers a smaller number of turns in the coil corresponding to the input power source is constrasted with a high number of turns to make for a higher voltage output. Is there any limit to this and if not why could we not (in theory) take, say a single solar cell, and put the output through a step-up tranformer with a large enough ratio to power an entire country and solve all our energy needs?

If the heating comes from the outside as they say, that would increase in also the rains proportionally and we had spoken of drought these last years.

– In the oceanic zones the mantle is smaller and the temperature is smaller and also it crosses cold water levels so when it arrives at level zero its temperature is not sufficient to evaporate the water to form clouds and rain.

We do not forget the tectonic plates, the increase of heat causes that there is a greater vulcanism and seismicity, and they move with more facility so they are producing more earthquakes, tidal waves (tsunami), volcanic eruptions, etc. They release more heat of interior. the governments are dedicated to prove their armament in the most unstable or fragile zones like France that bombs its atoll where it is the crater of the meteorite.

My friend and I were discussing the best super powers to have and she chose stopping time. I said the power to stop time would be cool in some instances but not in most since you wouldnt have any precognative abilities to predict when time should be stopped and in some instances like a plane crashing into the ocean, you couldnt do anything to save yourself. Whenever you see anyone with the ability to freeze time in movies they also have the ablilty to move things within that time space (like on the trailer for Click when he moves the kid’s baseball mitt). My theory is that if you can stop time you cant exert the force to move things within it, only the ability to move around it, like moving at light speed. Or if you can move things then you can’t walk on water…ergo you could escape from a plane hatch but not make it back to shore because you’d sink in the ocean. Does anyone else agree or have some sort of quantum theory they could use to answer this question?

First, you may have learned from science courses that energy can’t be created or be destroyed, it can only be transferred from one place to another. Second, as most of us know, when one is asleep, time seems to pass very quickly. Once you fall asleep the next second when you wake up, many hours have passed. In extreme cases, when one is in a coma, a person may experience a lifetime in a matter of hours from the time the person become unconscious to when he/she awakes decades later. In theory, I think in religious term “a soul” or “conscious” is pure energy. It cannot be created or destroyed, but transferred from one place to another. When we die, the energy migrates from our body to another place until it reaches a lifeform where we establish conscious again. This migration may take years, decades, or even millions of years, but to the eye of the beholder, it’s a matter of seconds…..feel free to comment.
Third, do you play video games? have you played Pac-Man? all you can do is to move up down left right and eat? how about Final Fantasy? how many more things can you do? What is the difference between a person playing Pac-Man and a person playing Final Fantasy. There can be no difference. Your abilities are limited to who you are. A fish cannot fly and a bird cannot swim.

To some of you: the estimated age of the universe has nothing to do with carbon dating. It is based on observations of light travelling to the earth from distant galaxies which allow you to go back in time. Light travels at a certain speed so if it arrived from a very distant location it had to have been created a long time ago, i.e. billions of years ago. (a simplified explanation).
