My onan generator only clicks when I press the start switch?

I have an Onan generator in a 1986 winnebago. It worked fine before sitting unused for a hear. Now when I try to start it, it only clicks. I found a similar post that said to check for hydrolock, which I did. I wound up taking it out of the rv to clean it up, (some mice had made use of the insulation above). I tried to Jump it right from a battery, as a similar post suggested, and same thing, it just clicked. So I have two questions, the first one, when I connect the jumper cable to the positive post, how should I be connecting the ground? I just put one end on the mounting case for the generator the other to neg on the battery, and got the same result. Tried moving the ground from the battery to the chasis of the rv, no luck. Am a grounding this properly, and if so, are there any other suggestions. Model is 4 obge 1r 26109c thanks

Is there a switch created that can switch power from one of two 6v batterys to provide constent power?

I am looking to power a digital game camera that runs on a 6v battery. The big square type. I have added a solar charger however if the flash goes off to often in one day the battery is draned at a time when the solar charger isn’t effective. My thought was to use two 6v in parallel or use a switch that would switch the power source before the battery is run down letting the other battery to be charged by the solar panel
The end goal would be for the switch to be automatic with out having to be present as the camara is 2 hours away.

Why do TV detectives do their investigations in the dark?

Wouldn’t it make life a whole lot easier if they flipped on a frickin’ switch and freed their “flashlight hand” for something else? Is there a genuine reason for this? Do real detectives do it? They’re especially bad about it on CSI. It drives me crazy. I’m all for saving energy, but not when there’s the possibility of a big burly bad guy jumping out at me from the shadows.
