Which mechanical wristwatches run longest?

My Cartier “Tank LC” runs 45 hours, if I fully wind it. That’s fairly typical, but there has been one upsmanship to see who can make the longest-running model. Patek Philippe’s “5100′ took the lead in 2000 by running 240 hours=10 days. In 2003, Patek added the $240,000 “5101″ tourbillon to its line. It also runs 10 days. Do these two models still hold the record for power reserve? Serious answers only, please!

Should Australia build Nuclear Power Plants?

I say yes. We need a cleaner energy source capable of replacing fossil fuels in a hurry. Today’s third generation plants are far safer than the early pioneering reactors which were themselves very safe as their past record demonstrates. There has never been a serious accident in the West resulting in loss of life. Chernobyl was the result of sloppy Russian safety protocols and a total disregard for the environment. With a World forever demanding increasing amounts of energy nuclear is the only sane option. Human civilisation can’t run on sunshine and breezes. Besides, what do the greenies think solar energy is anyway? It’s radiation from that giant thermonuclear reactor the Sun. Instead of being afraid of technology we should embrace the nuclear option.

Sergi and Sally where sitting in their family room one night. While Sergi was watching T.V his wife Sally was reading. All of a sudden the power went out and Sergi decided to go to bed, but Sally kept on reading. With no use of artificial light, Sally kept on reading. How?

Did you hear Hilary yesterday ?

She said, the oil companies had record profits and she planned to take those profits away and spend that money on alternative energy research.

Not raise their taxes, but take those profits away.

Does anyone else see the flaw with this plan, If you take profits away from a company when they are having good times (really good times) than don’t you have to subsidise them when times are slow?

What happened to free enterprize ?

The oil companies are not stupid. They know that in 20 years the oil industry is going to fade away. Does anyone believe that if for no other reason than pure greed, they aren’t working on it now so that they can keep us over the barrel even after it is empty?

I think Hilary is spouting off and telling people what they want to hear without thinking about the consequences.
