pedalpowergenerator.com This is an excellent interactive display for green festivals, science fairs, class rooms, trade shows, kids museums, and science museums, Kids & adults really enjoy creating their own alternative energy while watching their energy converted from electrical to mechanical energy to make a ball float in the air. The power meter shows Volts, Amps, Watts, and Amp Hours. The height of the ball is a strong visual indication of how much power is being generated.
Four person team distills water by boiling contaminated water and condensing purified vapor. A bike, used as a generator, creates current, which causes Nichrome wire to produce heat. Environmentally friendly, pedal-powered device uses no combustible fuels, and therefore can only have positive impact on environment. The device would effectively create safe, drinkable water free of pathogens, salinity, pollutants, and/or harmful particulates by separating the good from the bad.

pack battery connected. The blocking diode seen here is from http The permanent magnet motor / generator on your bike will still be spinning all day long zapping the energy out of your powerpack battery. Also the diode can get very hot if you don’t have a heat sink attached to it. For example, if you are putting out 10 Amps on your bicycle generator, then the diode will be disapating approximately 8 Watts of power. … free diy byo build your own biy blocking diode pedal power generator …
The refrigerator works by creating a vacuum in a system of 2 chambers to drive a thermodynamic reaction (boiling of water) at room temperature. The lowering in vapor pressure of the water, drives the water to boil. In order to do this, the water must capture heat from a system (the inside of the refrigerator). The continued pedaling (which drives the vacuum pump down to 10^-2 atm) will ensure that the water freezes as it continues to boil. After only about 10 min of pedaling, the valve to …

This is our entry to Specialized and Google’s “Innovate or Die” competition. It is a bicycle-powered water distillery. Using friction heat from a bicycle “fluid trainer”, contaminated or unsafe water is boiled, and the vapor is condensed, making it fit to drink. Currently the design relies on “pedal power”, but it could be easily coupled with solar power, wind power, or a paddle-wheel in running water to produce clean water on a larger scale. The design has two boiling chambers as shown, one …
