leasing laws in texas> water softener being serviced?

Under Texas law for renters should i have to pay for someone to come out and change the filters for a water softener and water purifier? Am i responsible for changing the filters under the sink and in the garage at all? Or is it the owner that has this responsibility? Isnt this considered an appliance?? This is not a run of the mill walmart filter you can just stick on there.. its pricey culligan system installed under the sink and in in the garage. One more question> do renters have to water the lawn? The grass is green and its kept up but the owner is wanting it watered… are renters really responsible for the watering of the lawn?

Costly not to have an energy efficient fridge?

We just got a fridge from some friends, and it’s an older fridge (20 years old). It’s still in great condition, but the prev. owner said it just wasn’t energy efficiant. We got it for free, so we’re not too concerened, expecially since we can’t afford a new one right now. Do you know how much a difference it will make in our electric bill? Right now, on average, ours is about $70 (because we’re not using air or heat).
Sorry, I didn’t mean that our bill is $70.00 with the fridge. We just picked it up tonight, and we haven’t even used it yet. Our bill is currently $70.00 (for MID Modesto Irrigation districtn is what we use for air/heat). I just don’t know how much it’s going to go up.

Need help diagnosing why my shallow well jet pump has a problem holding prime?

Hi I need some help. I am a first-time female cottage owner with a pump problem. Recently replaced the foot valve (it was clogged with muck) but the pump doesn<t draw water and needs to be re-primed after it has been left shut off for a few days – it seems to require about 2 cups of water to get it going again. My friend told me that I should just leave the power to the pump on for the season (breaker box switch) so the system holds its pressure. But I am afraid of leaving it on – I only go to the cottage every 3 weeks or so.
The pressure tank is an old galvanized steel model with just an on off switch. Please help me sort this out!!!!
