1: If you doubled the number of coils and doubled the voltage, what would be the increase in magnetic strength?
It would remain the same, since 2 / 2 = 1
It would be 4 times as strong, since 2 x 2 = 4
You can’t increase magnetism by increasing the voltage

2: What causes the loudspeaker cone to vibrate?
Sounds that come from the radio or TV
The movement of a magnet within a coil of wire with varying current running through it
The movement of electrons in the electromagnet

3: Why is wire wound in so many loops in commercial generators?
Many loops are needed to make AC electricity
Voltage depends on how many loops are used
No one is sure why they do it that way

4: Why are kilowatts used?
Because James Kilowatt invented electricity
So we don’t confuse them with watts
Using watts would result in much larger numbers

5: How many kilowatt-hours does a 100 watt light bulb use in 10 hours?
1 kilowatt-hour
1000 kilowatt-hours

Magnetic problem here on armature winding.?

I have a 6500 watt Honda generator with a burnt up armature. I will be forced to rewind. This will not pose a problem as I have a large back geared lathe. The problem is the winding was overheated so severly that it was fused togather. I had to cut it off so I was unable to count the turns, However Only one side was burnt. The other side is in good shape so I still have a good winding for reference. I need to determine the number of wraps in the winding and do not wish to unwind the good side for a count. Is it possible to measure the resistance on the good side and wrap the other side till I get the same amount? do I have to induce a known voltage in the good side and check it another way? What is the easiest way to determine the correct number of turns without unwinding the undamaged side? I could sure use some help on this one!

Dont laugh please, but i want to become President of the United States?

Earlier, I asked a question of what in a president would make people happy. I soon noted that answer number 5 described me in the bestest way possible. I have been sick of relying on the Middle East for oil, tired of giving all the money to the United Arab Emirates for their oil. I for once if would be elected, would ask congress to pass a law or act that would fund scientific studies on coal. You see, in America, there is tripple the amount of oil found in the Middle East. I dream of having my country depend on our American energy, coal. Why? Because coal can be converted into a substitute for natural gas. It is also very goof for our enviorment, as it does not cause pollution like gas. It is also able to conduct electricity. This would create a cleanier , oil dependant free America. Without all this oil in mind, we wouldn’t have to be going into all these wars and depend on Middle eastern countries. So, what do you say, do i have your vote?

I agree coal has a limited supply, but did you know we have a 250 year supply? yup

this could be such a great forum to work on and to solve a number of problems with in our government and other wrongs but, most of the people want to waste their time and energy quarelling over Dem’s and Rep’s who is the sorriest, why??? they all serve the same master,so why not make consructive use of some thing that has been handed to us for free,get organized and form a party that will be for the american people and one the people can vote for that won’t sell them out ,surely there are some intelligent people out there who have organizational skills and can locate canidadates who would be worthy of being brought before the American public for examination and hopefully voted for, surely every body out there is not of the sheepel species,
