Losing power in a car?

Driving from CA to WI , after about 11 hours of non stop, about half way my Car, ’03 Tiburon started to lose power and wound’nt go faster than 65 even if I floored it. Could it be the spark plugs going bad while I’m driving? It hasn’t died on me yet but I am worried that it will when I am in the middle of no where.

electric water heater, pressure valve blow-off?

installed new whirlpool water heater….pressure valve keeps going off….temperature set at 120..pressure into house is not out of line…I do have a peak, non peak meter at the fuse box that i believe the electric company installed…..it turns on power to water heater during non peak times….old water heater did same thing, thought that new one might take care of problem…new whirlpool has diagnotic info on top….power doesn’t come on to unit till box at fuse box allows it to….not sure if i should call a plumber or electrical….

I read a nice article, wanted to share with u,if u have time read it,”HOW MIND WORKS”? (non religious)

We all believe that without the mind we cannot function. In fact we function better without the mind.

When any of our senses perceive an object, say your eye seeing a flower, it is the energy behind that sensor, called chakshu that comes into play. Chakshu is a digital signal processor which creates a digital image of the flower and sends it to our memory. This part of our mind called chitta has the ability to filter the information by comparing it other images on its data base.

The partly processed information is then sent to another part of the mind called manas which makes a positive identification. Even with all the computing power available today, this kind of optical identification which even a child can do, is not yet practical.

Up to this point, the activities of sensory perception and identification of that experience are conscious processes. Once the identification is done, the file moves to ego, another part of the mind, which stores all our past experiences backed up with emotions. These emotion filled experiences are our samskara, and ego is their warehouse. The jump from manas to ego is an unconscious process.

Ego decides for you. You express that decision and act upon that decision. This zone of ego is not under the control of your conscious, logical and rational mind. Ego never sleeps, not for one moment. Samskara drives you to take illogical, unconscious and irrational decisions. For instance, a person decides to smoke knowing fully well that it is bad for health. His action is driven by his samskara, his desire that is unfulfilled. Samskara confuses you, depresses you, disturbs you, stresses you and can kill you.

This process of perception and identification of what you perceive, the process that happens between your eyes and your mind happens with your awareness, consciously. However, the process the information file takes between your mind and your ego happens without your awareness; it happens unconsciously.

This process is instinctive, a legacy from our sub-human origins. It is a much faster process since the unconscious mind processes data far faster than the conscious mind, and was designed for life threatening emergencies. The only way to make this process of transfer conscious and meaningful is by bringing in awareness through meditation. Meditation dissolves samskara, frees from suffering.

I was reading about the research into new plug-in hybrids. Why can’t we use nuclear waste to create batteries?

I know they are looking at using lithium ion batteries to increase efficiency in hybrid cars but the energy you use to plug it into your house comes from the same basic non renewable sources like coal and oil. Sure there are some wind and solar sources as well as water and yes nuclear power plants, but the vast majority of electricity still comes from burning fossil fuels. So are we really helping the enviroment by plugging in? There is a byproduct of nuclear power plants that is the used or spent fuel rods. This is contaminated radioactive material that is not strong enough to generate the electricity needed for continued use in the power plant. It is however still highly contaminated. Nuclear batteries are to put it plainly, silicon chips that capture the particles given off by a radiocative gas such as tritium. Can’t the rods and “yellow cake” be used in basically the same way.

what are the conventional and non conventional sources of energy? its for a school project.?

i just need a list of which are conventional and which arent. as in hydro electricity, solar power, etc.

If a billion ton of carbon appeared on the ocean how could I collect it?

I have a harmless way to get the atmospheric carbon onto the ocean, but then I do not know a way to collect it for containment.Trust me , the money I win will build a non poluting free energy plant all of our children will need in the future.
