Has anyone built their own wind turbine/generator?

I just need to verify my information, so if you know what you’re talking about, I’d appreciate your feedback. I’m mounting the blades onto a permananent-magnet Baldor motor scavenged from an old treadmill. The wires from the motor will run to a set of deep-cycle batteries and keep them charged. The wires from the batteries run to an automotive inverter to change the 12V DC power into 110 household electric, and from there into my shop where I can power my tools. First, is that all correct? And second, I’m told I need a diode in there somewhere so that the batteries don’t run the motor instead of the other way around. How does one wire a diode, and what kind of diode do I need?

why isnt anyone using magnet powered turbines?

I mean the instruments like windmills in principle, but instead of using wind, they use the opposing force of magnets to make the generator turn. They have been proven time and again, (I even heard of big name people getting into it) but no one is using the principle or even giving it anymore attention?! What gives..?

IN THIS VIDEO WE WIND THE SECOND COIL. THE CAMERA RAN OUT EARLY, SO IN THE NEXT VIDEOWE WIND THE WHOLE THING WIH THE WRAP UP ON THE COIL WITH TAPE, AND SATURATING THE COIL WITH SUPER GLUE. Will running a homemade wind turbine without a load hurt it?

I’m in the process of building my first wind turbine and was curious if running it without a load (ie. battery bank) would be harmful to the generators? I’m using a 260VDC 5A permanent magnet treadmill motor as the generator. I’m about ready to put up my tower and wasn’t sure if I can go ahead and get it all assembled and put up and then add the battery bank as soon as I can get the batteries. This way I could also see how well it’s going to perform on the tower. It’s a 60′ lattice tower and will be hinged at the bottom but still will be a bit of a pain to lower and raise a lot. I’m really excited about getting this up and running but don’t want to damage anything before I even get started.

Also I’ve heard of people using old electric baseboard heaters as a load dump when the bank gets fully charged. I’m having some trouble locating any of these around here and was wondering if anyone would have any other suggestions on something I could use as a dump? Thanks for all your time.

how to regulate dc motor generator to 12v battery?

Here is what I have 10 foot wind-tirbine, 40 foot tower,24vdc perm magnet motor, six 12v truck batt connected parallel.
its all set up and functions well with a autonotive generator(not altanator) ond app automotive voltage regulator.However doesnt produce enough power. and i have changed the automotive generator to a 24vdc perm mag lil racale motor. and my question is HOW DO I REGULATE THE VOLTAGE AS TO NOT OVERCHARGE THE BATTERYS I need to make a voltage controler or modify other inexpensive means or other inexpensive aplications. thank you in advance
