Mega hydro power projects causes sinking of large area (forest, agriculture land, villages, etc.) which results into depletion of our ecosystem, can’t we go for any other form of energy which is clean and still doesn’t affect the environment on the large scale and can be implemented worldwide easily.
1.By constructing huge dams really help. why to waste acres of land to store water instead of using small storages like check dams.
2. Is there any other alternatives for hydro power generating systems in place of using river valley projects
3. What are the rehabilitation methods to be done for the people living around the area?

I am from the working class and want to promote a middle class agenda . Make the Constitution the law of the land . I want to seal the borders and have a plan for a 16 month gradual withdrawl from the “free trade treaty” that is crippling us. A straight out withdrawl from the treaty would cripple us over night as we are so dependent on imports for everything . I have a plan for a North American treaty that would encourage factories to use up to 25 percent of their materials from Canada or Mexico on a modified tarrif that would encourage ” fair ” competition , but would keep the American worker first . I also have a energy plan that would convert the nation over to Bio-fuel and have the U.S. form companies to compete against the energy suppliers, not to put them out of bussiness , but to generate revenue for the government and curtail “record” revenues for big oil .Somebody once said the bussiness of America is bussiness. I say PAX AMERICA, America first . Got any suggetions ?

DALLAS — Wind turbines supplying energy to homes and businesses will one day line Texas’ 376-mile coastline if the state’s Land Office Commissioner has his way.
The turbines will stand about 10 miles offshore, enough to preserve the treasured view but close enough to make coastal wind power an affordable energy alternative still missing in the United States, Commissioner Jerry Patterson (search) said.
Last month, the office announced a deal with a Louisiana contractor to build 50 turbines designed to power about 40,000 homes.

I am looking for land, up in the mountains anywhere in America. I want atleast 40 acres, and access to a good fishable river. I am going to use solar (i know theres going to be problems with snow) and wind generators to power my log cabin. I am going to use the river (with filtration) for my water source. I have no problem being a hundred miles away from the nearest town or neighbor. Can anyone give me some advice on where to look for land?
