Is a new Cold War coming?

Is the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (AP Story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060614/ap_on_re_as/asia_security emerging as the new Warsaw Pact? Facing off against US, Japan, Australia, etc, with Taiwan holding the position of Berlin, & military power focused on naval more so than land power?

NOTE: Japan is partnered with US on regional missle defense, has recently engaged & chased off a PRC sub in Japan waters, has opened an informal embasy in Taipei, and has an extensive exchange program of retired senior military officers. They are now in negotiations with Taipei toward a treaty as to what level of military involvement Japan would have in support of the US if China were to invade Taiwan, & what Japan military reaction would be if these extensive support & defensive forces were to be attacked.

Thanks so far. Focused on China vs US, with role players around the Pacific on the one side, and this organization on the other. I tend to not think it will go hot for 10 years, and will be WW3 when that happens, but in the meantime building Cold War? And, how do you feel about the aligning forces against American interests, & moves by Japan to lead the way in that region while we’re at war elsewhere?

That’s interesting. I don’t entirely disagree, but I think we’re a little wasy off from there. I’m just refering to something cold between now & the anticipated hot version in 10-15 years. So far as future technologies emerging as a war/confilct changing paradigm, I don’t think so. For this “friendly” warfare you speak of to emerge there would have to be parity in technology. In other words, we can attack them in secret w/o being blamed, but they will respond with what they have available, and that would still be conventional/nuclear options.

Anybody hip to Stevia here?

I’ve ALWAYS been skeptical whenever any governmental body tried to tell me to do or not to do anything. Turns out I was right all the time! I’ve been a diabetic, since 1974, and thanks to the FDA aspartame, Nutri-Sweet, has been legally poisoning me and everybody else. Aspartame, Equal, Nutra-Sweet and other names, has been shown to cause Cancer in an Italian study and is TOTALLY banned from Japan. Now these stuffed shirt’s have had other, harmless, sweeteners banned from the US market, until 1994 I believe Stevia a herb that has been in use, almost, everywhere but here. Free market? Well, if you’re wondering why those Artificial Sweeteners cost so much; the lobbyists cost big bucks. And guess who pays? Kind of makes me wonder WTF the Petroleum Industry, a much more powerful group especially with Bubba as President, is having banned currently? In about 50 years, by use of the Freedom of Information Act, we may discover somebody thought up a way to get energy from water but the Grease Monkeys kept it off the market. It would NOT be the first time such a thing has happened. For more info about Aspartame go here;

I prefer stevia Xylitol gives me diarhea, that don’t stop! And the first Stevia I bought I found I missed the artificial aftertaste. Weird huh?

Japan in energy transition

Japan’s nuclear crisis has pushed the country to take another look at its energy policy. The government plans to put solar panels on at least 10 million homes. In the mean time, many Japanese citizens are trying to do their part to help avoid a further power crisis by conserving as much energy as possible. Marga Ortigas reports from Tokyo. [June 6, 2011]

www.SolarPoweredHome.us – So, you are interested in knowing how to generate power and reduce your electricity bills, than you have come to the right place. With the ever increasing costs of living and global warming, there should be better time when we stop throwing money out the window and save some by starting to generate our own electricity. Whether you want to simply cut your power bills to half or completely eliminate them the one stop solution is SolarPoweredHome. Why pay a huge amount like 00s for utilization of solar or wind power when you can have the opportunity to build your own home made solar system for less than 0. Thats right, there are guides that teach you everything you need to know about generating your own electricity by using wind and solar power. With the complete step-by-step setup fully illustrated manuals and easy to follow video instructions present in the guide you will be able to create renewable energy at home. Solar and wind power systems brought from the market costs higher but the guide and the program in it gives you the information that is required to get the same results at a tiny price. Once you have learned and ready to build and install your alternate power supply, you will save hundreds of dollars on your electricity bill. Iran doesn’t need nuclear weapons; what do you think?

If there nuclear program was really for civial use, then why have they refused regulations that would prohibit them from making nukes? Look at Japan, South Korean and Singapore. Those coutries have the top economies in the world and they don’t have nuclear weapons. Iran argues that it needs nuclear waapons for protection, but why worry about that? The United States and the international community would not allow any one country to invade another. For example, the Gulf War. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, the international community would not tolerate shuch acts and warned Iraq to vacate Kuwait or suffer the consequences. Four days later the Iraqi military was defeated and Kuwait was free again. In reality, Iran should not have its nuclear program as its top priority. Instead, it should invest heavily on agriculture, the economy and business. And if they need nuclear technology for energy purposes, then let the IAEA regulate their program and make sure they don’t make nukes.
