Limits to step-up transformers?

In step-up transformers a smaller number of turns in the coil corresponding to the input power source is constrasted with a high number of turns to make for a higher voltage output. Is there any limit to this and if not why could we not (in theory) take, say a single solar cell, and put the output through a step-up tranformer with a large enough ratio to power an entire country and solve all our energy needs?

Definition of Words/Terms (Math and Physics)?

Anyone can answer, but i would value the input of a physicist, especially one dealing with the physics involving liquid helium and temperatures approaching absolute zero (0K), as some of these…well all of these terms are fairly technical.
Here goes,
Equilibrium Properties
Lambada Transition
Quasi-lattice
Quantum Liquids
Zero-Point Motion
Order/Disorder Phase transitions
Curie Point
Momentum space
partition function
Helmholtz free energy
molar volumes
Sublimation energy
empirical
Bose-Einstein Gas
Entropy
Heat Capacities
Surface Tension (What the heck is a dyne/cm?!?!)

That’s it, I have those words in context as well, so feel free to ask for that.

Will my 115V water pump get damaged from a 120Vac power source?

I have a timer system in place that takes in 120Vac as input power and i have it set up in a way to use it for my loads (water pumps). According to my specs my water pumps require 115V to operate. I notice there is a 5V difference in power being supplied and power requirements. So what happens? Will my pumps get damaged from excess power? My water pumps are submerged in my ponds when they are operating.

I am interested in wind power and its practicality in my area.?

I would like to find out cost vs. output, average wind speeds and generally how cost relates to the use of wind for private and comercial use. Any input would be appreciated.

What are your experiences with solar power?

We are thinking about going completely off grid. Any input is welcomed. Thanx!
REAL “ADULT” ANSWERS PLEASE!!!

Richie..you make no sense..just say thanx for the 2pts and move along…
Wind isn’t a good option for us, we’ve checked the wind pattern map for our area..
