Have you ever wished you could fly like a bird?

I’m thinking of learning to hangglide. I hear it isn’t as dangerous as it was 30 years ago when people pioneered it. Nowadays hardly anyone plummets into the hard ground and kills themselves. I can’t understand why I never looked into this before. It’s a little expensive for lessons but I could buy my very own brand new hangglider for around $2000. I think a hangglider would be as close to real flight as a human could get with the wind in your face and no engine noise. Atleast until somebody builds a flapping version.

Beyond Scarcity: Power, Poverty and the Global Water Crisis

Throughout history water has confronted humanity with some of its greatest challenges. Water is a source of life and a natural resource that sustains our environments and supports livelihoods but it is also a source of risk and vulnerability. In the early 21st Century, prospects for human development are threatened by a deepening global water crisis. Debunking the myth that the crisis is the result of scarcity, this report argues poverty, power and inequality are at the heart of the problem. In a world of unprecedented wealth, almost 2 million children die each year for want of a glass of clean water and adequate sanitation. Millions of women and young girls are forced to spend hours collecting and carrying water, restricting their opportunities and their choices. And water-borne infectious diseases are holding back poverty reduction and economic growth in some of the worlds poorest countries. Beyond the household, competition for water as a productive resource is intensifying. Symptoms of that competition include the collapse of water-based ecological systems, declining river flows and large-scale groundwater depletion. Conflicts over water are intensifying within countries, with the rural poor losing out. The potential for tensions between countries is also growing, though there are large potential human development gains from increased cooperation.

What do you think about this “Association for a Human Moral Code”?

Read the following mesage from the Association to the Racing folks:
“Racing industry establishes Barbaro research fund.”

These people that supports racing need to know the following:

We are free for doing what we want out of our life. Therefore,
if we chose to spend our time and our material resources for to
keep the feed and maintenance of horses for to see them riding
in competitions, it is our problem, nobody else.
But…
For doing that, all material resources spent into this habit need
be made with our own hands and the sweat of our own faces,
nobody else. If we are taking any kind of material resources
(such any unit of the energy from the work of any human being) from persons that does not participates in this sport, we are being “Humanity’s Enemies”.
. Humanity demands, requires, that every bit of energy produced by any human being be employed in favor of that the same human being and his/her offspring. There are too many human – children and adults – that are working without the basic resources for survival with dignity, therefore, Humanity can not give its resources for horses. Be advised: if we are watching you spending resources with horses and we are not seeing you at the hard and manual work producing these resources…we are accounting your debt with Humanity… a debt that can not be paid with another’s work, can not be paid with money obtained by others means than those generated by yours own hand. If we never will be able for to receipt this debt from you, at least we are waiting that there is DIVINE JUSTICE, who will receipt it.

How could we use tornados and hurricanes as enormous source of energy to be used by human?

I believe we can use these natural powers to produce energy, the same way we build dams to stop flooding and producing energy (electricity) and water for agriculture.

The Human Mind………….?

If only a certain percent of the human mind is being used, does this mean actively, like when we’re focused on something? Is the rest of that percentage allocated to processing other information, like sound, smell, heart rate, touch, sight, and so forth?

The be more precise, when I am driving on the highway, I am actively focused on keeping my steering straight, maintaining a set speed, braking, speeding up, slowing down, and so on. So, could that be the certain percentage of active brain power that I am using, while the rest of my brain is processing things like different colors, sun glare, the roar of car engines passing by, the wind blowing across my face?
