Ok, so what does this mean then?

If this doesnt mean that Joseph Smith is the way to be with God, what does it say?

President Brigham Young uttered this bold statement: “Joseph Smith holds the keys of this last dispensation, and is now engaged behind the vail in the great work of the last days. I can tell our beloved brother Christians … that no man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith. From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are—I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent. He holds the keys of that kingdom for the last dispensation—the keys to rule in the spirit world; and he rules there triumphantly, for he gained full power and a

I am not a Morman, nor am I converting… I was challanged on this and so wanted to post it.
I repeat – I am NOT Mormon.
I am awaiting the Mormons who challanged me to answer….

All religion is evil – response?

The point i am trying make is that religion seems far more concerened with making other people believe what they believe rather than actually helping people that need it. Rather than having organised religion and prey meetings why not use that time to help people in the community. Only without god clouding our minds are we free to live our lives. If people weren’t so concerned about converting people or shouting that there religion is right we would all live together much happier. We could use our time for good and importnat things.

Instead of standing outside a jerry springer opera or marching about cartoons why not use that energy and time to actually help people that need it. Rather than spend sundays knocking on peoples doors to try and convert them why not work with needy children.

Not until god has left us will we be truely free.

Does anyone else agree with this???

A hypothetical question I would like only Atheists and Agnostics and Evolutionists to consider?

Background: Creationists – specifically young Earth creationists, contend that God made the Earth recently, that Dinosaur walked with man, they point to the thickness of moondust and thermodyamics, all really bad science.

So hypothetically, if all the energy they spent with that junk science they spent on “actual science”, forget the God no God thing everyone is sick of it and I believe they are free to believe what they want, I support their freedom to do so absolutely, but what if they harnassed that energy on real issues, like modern medical cures, or feeding hunger, or eliminating genocide and war?

How far would the human race go if the Creationists stopped their “spiritual warfare” and joined us for real progress?

Would they even be an outstanding addition? Even if it was the guy in the corner saying “what if that goes wrong” it would be a step up from “our dogma says blah blah blah”.

Just wondering what you think.

I think they might help if they joined us.

Big Bang or the Bible?

I am not claiming to be anything but curious. The Bible states creation at only about 6000 years, yet evidence suggests that our solar system is billions of years old and much geology of earth proves that our planet is older than stated in the Bible. Is it hipocritical to believe both? Can one believe in God if they also believe in dinosaurs and ancient paleothical people?

What do you call an experience that you have with god or the supernatural?

Pentecostals call it the tongues experience or the baptism of the holy ghost or the born-again experience; Catholics, Lutherans and Baptists call it water baptism; Wesleyans call it sanctification; Buddhists call it enlightenment; Hindus call it samadhi; Sufi call it fana; Zen call it satori. Every world culture has a name for the experience in which people say that they have been touched by some higher power or truth or god and their descriptions are almost identical. Why?

If God gives us free will & the US constitution says we have the right to life liberty & pursuit of happieness

If we have a right to life liberty & the pursuit of happieness then why are some things like growing hemp illegal?

If 1/2 of what is claimed about hemp true them it is nearly a miracle plant.

The way a lot of the lumber I see is made it is an assembly of many small pieces of wood glued together.
Glue lams OSB ( orientated strand board [a plywood like building material] ) Plywood ,even studs are more & more many short pieces glued together.

These could be made better stronger quicker and cheaper IF we where permitted to grow hemp to replace the wood.

Hemp could ruin the outside marijuania crop because the hemp grown for paper, cloth, building material etcetera would be the male plant because it grows taller quick & flowers sooner therefore with the release of male pollen ruining the female plant used for marijuania because after it gets pollenated will devote its energy to making seeds.

What does the religious/spiritual community think of this?

Where is my argument /logic faulty
I realize that I have made a error.

the Constitution did not grant us Life liberty & pursuit of happieness
That phrase is in the declaration of independence

The question will be relisted as

If God gives us free will & the declaration of independence right to life liberty & pursuit of happieness

What rights do we really have.

We have free will to break the law as we choose
BUT
What am I really allowed to do before I need to give any consideration to law inforcement

I have a very long 5150 (reckless indangerment/attemped suicide) from swimming too far from the shore to rope swinging or jumping off embankments or bridges to climbing embankments or trees.
The list seems endless
It seems as though if I am enjoying something I risk getting arrested and charged with a 5150
I realize that I have made a error.
