* Thousands of tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide gases are being pumped into our atmosphere every day, which is destroying our ecosystems NOW. This waste is completely uncontrolled and is dispersed straight into the air we breathe and water we drink.
* Whilst dangerous, depleted uranium can be stored, vitrified and packaged in such a fashion that it is EXTREMELY unlikely to ever harm the environment or people.
* The only event which could potentially cause vitrified, buried nuclear waste to rupture would be an earthquake or asteroid strike, but occurences like these happen in geological spans of time measured in the hundreds of thousands of years. Lets face it, if humanity is still about in 100 000 years we should be in a position to deal with a little waste, considering the advances we have made in only 2000 years of civilisation..! Nuclear power isn’t the sole answer to global warming, but it is part of the solution. Peace.
