I need something for a story I’m writing about a goddess of wind who uses a certain weapon that would compliment her power but i can think of any thing and I’m trying to stay away from the whole fan thing and the sword is taken. Any ideas?
This would increase her power like a sa’angreal for those of you who have read the weal of time series.
Here in the philippines air is very windy so i am planning to build a wind turbine.

If you can generate power with a huge windmill with 25 + foot fan blades and a very tall tower, is it possible to do this? : I am building a camper in the bed of my pickup truck, You know, the home of the future. Can a turbine “squirrel cage” fan mounted atop the vehicle so as to turn as the vehicle moves through the wind; be governed for power output to power a battery, or a series of batteries? What would I use for a generator for the fan to drive, and what would be the voltage regulator should the battery exceed max. storage capacity? 12 volt automobile batteries. Excuse my ignorance! I find that, sometimes, it’s not good to not be very smart. It leaves lots of room to learn something.
I don’t understand Bilruss’s answer. The fan is driven by the vehicle’s passage throught the air. Like a jet engine turning the turbine, but rather than developing thrust out the other end, your generating voltage through a coil.

How many solar cells to power a computer fan?
I am in the process of making a small wind mill generator.
I am attempting to use a ceil;ing fan as my generator.
It is I believe and induction motor. There are two sets of coils on the stator. First set coils it placed nearest the rotor. The second set on an inner circumference. The rotor consist of lamineted layers. I do not have an LC meter so I do not know the impedance, but the mearused resistance of the coils are.
6.2 and 5.1 ohms. I am now reading that I will require EXCITATION capacitors for this to work. The documents that I have show a 3-phase motor convercion, thus it has 3 sets of coils where I only have 2.
Any comments on how to work this out? What value and type of capacitors do I need to use?

HERE I HAVE MADE A SOLAR POWERED ATTIC FAN. I HAD A 12 VOLT 5 OR 8 WATT CLIP ON AUTO OR CAR FAN YOU CAN GET FROM WAL-MART FOR I THINK IT WAS . I HAD A 5 WATT SOLAR PANEL FROM HARBOR FREIGHT I GOT FOR ON SALE SOMETIME LAST YEAR. SO I REMOVED THE FRONT PART OF THE FAN AND THE CLIP THEN SILICONED IT TO A THIN PEACE OF PLYWOOD I HAD CUT A HOLE IN JUST BIG ENOUGH SO THE LIP OF THE FAN SET IN THE HOLE. I HAVE 3 VENT HOLES ON THE ROOF OF MY HOUSE SO I TOOK SHORT SCREWS AND MOUNTED THE FAN OVER ONE OF THE HOLES. I RAN A WIRE DOWN THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE TO THE SOLAR PANEL. NOW I HAVE A FAN HELPING TO VENT MY ATTIC. THE FAN WILL KICK ON AROUND 10 am THEN TURN OFF AROUND 7 pm. I JUST LEAVE THE FAN ON AND HAVE TO SOLAR PANEL TURN IT ON AND OFF. THE COST OF A SOLAR ATTIC FANS ARE CRAZY! STARTING AT 0 AND UP. I SPENT ON THIS ONE. AND I’M WANTING TO ADD 2 MORE FANS FOR THE OTHER VENT HOLES IN MY ATTIC. I’LL PROBABLY BUILT ME A SOLAR PANEL TO POWER ALL 3 FANS. I HOPE YOU ALL LIKE IT. NOW BUILD ONE AND MAKE IT BETTER.. THANKS FOR WATCHING..
