Have you ever heard of this?

I was told that you could be paid by the power companies to generate power, connect it to their grid, and they just send you a check at the end of each month. So long as you can keep the wind or water turbines turning and don’t use more power than they produce you get paid that is. If you were very motivated you could even connect a bike to a belt system and do it that way. The companies were supposed to have a program setup for this and I’d like to be able to get in on it if anyone has heard of, or uses this system and thinks it is also a good idea.

What are the crazy looking things I see when driving down the Highway, Specifically I-135?

They are very large white, possibly steel, arms. They have a circle of studs on one end that make it look like they bolt to something. The only thing I could imagine would be blades to a wind generator from a wind farm.

I have been seeing them regularly and I live in Kansas, but does anyone know what they are?

Why can’t I add an electric motor to a 1/4 pulley system and add the other end to a dynamo for free energy?

I know about Law of conservation of energy – but this one beats me. Can we add a motor on one side coupled with a piston and pull the line on the pulley system and add a dynamo on the other side? And use a loopback to give part of its power to the motor? <I did think of the in-efficiencies of conversion, but since this is a 1/4 pulley I am assuming atleast 50% of the 400% produced remains after all losses.

I want to know about current, resistance and voltage.?

i am goin to make a circuit demonstrating electric wind. in the experiment, i have to connect a wire to a power source. the other end of the wire is allowed to discharge slowly into the air. If my current is abt 0.5 A, since my resistance is very high, what voltage will i get. What do i do to increase it?
hello. if u wanna know what i’m trying to make, go to http://membres.lycos.fr/plasmapropulsion/Historical_%26_Basic/Electric_Wind.htm
Tre, very good, u found de very site i was refferring to. Yohan, V = IR not I/R
Jalaj, i haven’t been fooled by anyone, the wire is discharging at one end, thats why the current is small compared to the high expected voltage(2000 volts)
P. B., i know abt electricity; voltage, current and resistance and the water analogy, what i wanted to know was, since I = V/R, and my resistance is very high, logically, i should have to have a very high voltage to get a considerable current. Is that right?

If I follow this, Will I lose my belly and leg fat by the end of the summer?

Part 1: Running: it’s cheap, accessible, and you get quick results. No membership to the gym required, and all you need are a pair of running shoes, shorts, and a shirt. If you run around your neighborhood for 45 minutes to an hour for 5 or 6 days a week, you’ll lose abdominal fat, your thighs will shrink and become muscular, you’ll look leaner, you’ll sleep better, and you’ll be able to do other fun physical activities like hiking more easily.

Part 2: Strength training. Again, easy, accessible, cheap. No membership to the gym required. You can lift weights right in your own home. For example, take a dictionary to start, balance it on your hands while laying down, and lift up and down. Ta-da, strength training for the arms. Or, buy a set of weights from a sports store; they’re relatively inexpensive.

Part 3: Cut back on the junk food and replace it with fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, lean meats, whole grains, etc. Your diet doesn’t have to be so strict that you end up binging on the bad stuff. Just make substitutions. Instead of ice cream, eat frozen yogurt. For your chips substitute, eat fat-free Pringles. Make sure you get enough of the good calories, and don’t skip any of the food groups! (that means no low-carb diets) Any mineral or vitamin deficiency in your diet will compromise your energy stores and your overall health. Get involved in your cooking, so you know exactly what’s going into your mouth. Look up healthy recipes on the internet. You’ll find that a lot of these healthier foods taste much better than you thought they would. (Plus, you’re spending the same amount of money on food; you’re just buying different stuff.)

Part 4: Reward yourself every now and then. It’s fine to live a little. Just make sure you’re only rewarding yourself once or twice a week.

Part 5: Stay active even on your recovery days. Take a hike with friends in the mountains. Go for a leisurely swim. Bike with a significant other. Pick up a sport hobby, like tennis.

Part 6: Keep at it and have patience. You didn’t gain the weight overnight, so you’re not going to lose it overnight. Don’t expect to lose more than 2 pounds per week. Doctors and dietitians recommend this amount; anything else is considered to be unhealthy. The combination of eating right and exercising regularly WORKS. You’ll become leaner and you’ll stay that way if you continue to eat right and exercise daily.
I’m trying to lose 15/20 pounds.

If the velocity of the solar wind is about 400 km/s and the visible tail of a comet is 10 to the power of 8 km

how long does it take an atom to travel from the nucleus to the end of the visible tail?

When does it all end?

So much turmoil in the world today. Resources are on the decline (water shortages, fossil fuels, etc.) Governments world wide neglecting their citizens, keeping their power for themselves.

How long before this ends? Will there ever be a time (in the near future anyway, I really don’t care about 200 years from now, I’ll be dead) when humans can push aside their shortcomings and live up to the potential we have? Or are we just doomed to more wars, failures and disappointment?
