I want other people’s opinions on using Solar Panels to generate electricty for the home. Is the initial investment worth the trouble? How quickly can I recoup my expense? How long do they last? etc

I am very optmistic about our future. I think that in the future people will work just like we do hobby or sports or recreational work. Everything will be free because there will always be people to do all kinds of jobs that need to be done. Cleaning and mundane jobs by computer servants !!! Lots of Values change will be needed. Afterall if you can get your food, lodging, clothes, Medicine, Education, Communication & Transportation free, you wouldn’t want to accumulate wealth (power?) and then everybody can use their energy to do what they like of course, we can also check with the internet what needs to be done locally / globally in order to direct our efforts to something useful and needed. A long way to go and very complicated but the basic idea being it. Your thoughts?
